1704MON Study for the rehabilitation of Monpas battery

The eastern limit of San Sebastian in Monpas has endured a long debate about how to ‘finish’ that geographical limit of the city. After several over-ambitious projects, this study aims to propose a sensitive intervention. The study analyzes the viability of the rehabilitation of an old quarry railroad that carried materials to an old military battery at Monpas Point, now derelicted over years of abandonment. This study proposes to rehabilitate the battery as a ruin and use it as a starting point of the natural paths across Ulia mountain.

The project also inquires into the past of the area and the clashes between locals and the developers that tried to impose projects and never could.
